Inauguration Ceremony

At 2 pm, the inauguration ceremony begins. During the ceremony, colleagues from other universities will bring greetings. Symbols of authority will be presented to the new President, and he will be formally installed into office. The President will offer his inaugural address. Other elements of the ceremony will include: a poem written for the occasion; an anthem with a text chosen by the new President and set to music.

How to Watch the Ceremony 

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Yale cable television, as well as transmitted at several viewing areas on campus. Live webcast viewing is available in Battell Chapel, Corner of Elm and College Streets and in Burke Auditorium, Kroon Hall, 195 Prospect Street on Science Hill. Doors open at 1:30pm. There will also be a large screen for viewing the ceremony on the lawn at 43 Hillhouse Avenue.

The ceremony also will be streamed live on the inauguration website and the Yale YouTube channel on Sunday, October 13, from 1 to 4 pm.
